Experience the Hakomi Method

Do you need some support? Are you looking for a new perspective on familiar challenges? Feeling stuck and trying to find a way forward?

At the Somatic Psychotherapy Clinic, graduates in the Hakomi method provide meaningful and affordable support to those who have tried mainstream approaches and are looking for a more embodied, less cognitive approach.

Sessions are available either online or in a range of Australian locations.

Next steps

Step 1 - Register your interest

You will be asked for some brief information about your intentions, preferences and availability.

Step 2 - Initial intake

One of our team will be in touch to organise an initial chat over phone or zoom. This is a chance to explain how the service works, answer any questions and talk through your options.

Step 3 - Meet your Therapist

Your therapist will be in contact to set up a meeting time. At this first session, they might focus on understanding your needs and preferences, and discussing your broader goals and intentions. They will also discuss how you can work together with Hakomi.

You will be emailed a Client Intake and Consent Form to fill out before your next session.

Step 4 - Hakomi Therapy

Its time to begin. We hope you love hakomi therapy as much as we do.

About
Services

Hakomi is a gentle, experiential method of self-study. Rather than just talking about your problems, you are guided to explore how you organise your experience in the present moment, using your body as a compass to gain insights into yourself.

The therapy space is informed by safety, curiosity and compassion, opening the door to deeper self-awareness, new perspectives on old struggles, and a felt sense of choice, possibility and nourishment.

All therapists in our centre have graduated from the Hakomi Professional Training Program (Hakomi Institute, Sydney)

Sessions are provided online

or in the following regions (dependent on availability):

NSW - Sydney, Central Coast,
Hunter, Northern Rivers

SA - Adelaide

WA - Perth, Margaret River

We are able to take on clients based outside of Australia, however not all of our clinicians provide these services.

We are a group of Hakomi graduates who have come together to form the Somatic Psychotherapy Clinic.

Our clinic is virtual without a central office or main address. You can click on individual practioner profiles for information about our team.

We have a variety of professional backgrounds including psychology, psychotherapy, counselling, coaching, and mindfulness.

All therapists are covered by our Clinic's Practice Standards, hold current insurance, and are attend regular clinical supervision sessions.
